Start an Internet Business With a Plug In Profit Site
Recently, I decided to sign up for a "Plug in Profit" site from Stone Evans ("the home biz guy"). I'd seen these mini-sites around for a couple of years, but never tried one until this year. Overall, I'm very pleased.
I signed up for a "PiPS", and, as promised, was notified a little over 24 hours later that my site had been uploaded and pre-configured for me, and was ready to go. Sure enough, there it was.
I had always thought that was the end of the story, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Stone provides a ton of good reference material and suggestions on how to get the most out of your site, which comes pre-loaded with ads for some high-quality internet marketing and home business opportunities.
If you aren't already a member of these programs, you join through the provided links, submit your affiliate IDs when signing up for your site, and they are embedded in the site that is provided for you. Personally, I think this is a terrific home based business opportunity.
In addition to the basic site, you're given access to two different software tools that give you the ability to add some more programs to the site, and customize it to some degree.
You can't currently change the color scheme or the basic layout, unless you know HTML and want to take the time to download and edit the files. I've seen indications that Stone is planning to make additional templates and color schemes available later this year.
Because I know HTML, I was able to change some of the text of the advertising, move a few things around, and add my own additional links to customize my site. I also added the necessary legal documents (terms of use, disclaimer, and privacy policy) which aren't provided with the site when you get it.
For me, that was no big deal, as I just re-worded some documents from another of my sites to suit this one, and uploaded them. Adding the links to the bottom of the page was a cinch (I DO know how to code an HTML page), and I was ready to go.
Whether or not a rank beginner could do what I did is doubtful, in my opinion. Stone does offer to customize the site for you at a modest fee, however.
My next pleasant surprise came when I logged into the autoresponder that was set up as part of my account. There was a series of over 200 pre-written emails waiting for me. After adding my sig file, I was ready to publicize them as a newsletter.
I did some editing of the emails to make my series a bit different from those the other PiPS site owners will be sending out. After all, if somebody signs up for the mailings, I don't want them to be identical to what people could get elsewhere.
Beginners, however, would do fine to leave Stone's series well enough alone. The letters are professional in both content and presentation.
The final surprise in the whole adventure was when I logged in to the affiliate support center and found Stone's excellent "30 days to Success" letters. The letters show beginners how to get traffic to their new site, and make some very practical suggestions that all internet marketing experts would be familiar with, and would identify as the basics of a sound internet business.
Whether or not I have truly "plugged in" to profits remains to be seen, but I definitely have "plugged in" to an instant internet business site. Since I have other sites that I can link to it, and I know how to find some traffic, I expect it will be a helpful addition to my portfolio.
Especially for beginners, this is a great way to get your first site up and running, and join some quality affiliate programs, from which you can learn internet marketing from the ground up.
For somebody like myself, with half a dozen websites under my belt, it's a nice additional income stream at very modest cost, both in time and money. I'm glad I went for it.
